Independent Living Coordinators x2 

Salary: up to £10,959 per annum 

We are looking for Independent Living Coordinators to join our Independent Living Team who work with over 1400 residents across Broxtowe living in our self-contained Independent Living properties.

You will be working with residents, their families and external support agencies to develop an individual plan to help them live independently at home and to promote their health and wellbeing. You will work alongside with our Activities Coordinators to arrange group activities and events to help improve residents’ social interactions.

You will also work closely with colleagues across the Housing Department to support tenants, manage anti-social behaviour and to prevent tenancy failure.

Temporary Planning Information Team Leader

Salary: £34,709 - £36,500 per annum Maternity Cover up to 1 year 

We are seeking an individual with the drive and enthusiasm to work within a thriving planning policy team, and lead a team of officers and help in delivering plans and projects within a well-organised planning service.  The ideal candidate would be highly motivated, organised, able to work under pressure and have the ability to motivate others. Previous experience of working at a senior level within a planning department would be required, with knowledge of strategic housing work/ monitoring, and dealing with major housing developments being desirable. 

This role would be based in Planning Policy. Experience of dealing with major schemes in a Planning Policy context is essential. Candidates should be methodical, able to use your initiative, communicate effectively and have sound negotiating and report writing skills.

Waste and Climate Change Manager

Salary: £40,107 - £41,886 

We’re looking for an experienced professional to join our Environment Team and develop these services to meet the current and future needs of both our customers and the organisation.

Day to day, this role includes managing a large number of employees to deliver waste and recycling collections, street cleansing and our Neighbourhood Warden service. You will also be responsible for monitoring performance and developing and implementing business plans to help us improve services and achieve results.

As well as managing an important front-line service, the role will also make a significant contribution towards managing and monitoring the Council’s commitment and progress on Climate Change. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about the environment to make a real difference and help us achieve our goals to become carbon neutral.

Elections and Canvass Work

Did you know you can get involved at election time by putting your name forward to work at a polling station or assist with the counting of votes?

Would you be interested in undertaking door-to-door visits as part of the electoral registration canvass?

If so, Broxtowe Borough Council’s Electoral Services team would like to hear from you.  We are looking for flexible, motivated individuals for elections and canvassing roles that may occur throughout the year.

To get involved with election and canvassing duties, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Be entitled to work in the UK and have all the relevant documentation should evidence be required
  • Polling and count staff must not work on behalf of a candidate during an election campaign, nor be related to a prospective candidate
  • Be willing to consent to working in excess of the hours indicated by the working time directive when undertaking polling station and counting roles
