Gas Engineer P/T

Salary: £24,359 - £25,867 pro rata per annum 18.5 hours per week working Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday.

We are looking for a Gas Engineer to undertake domestic gas servicing and maintenance activities within our 4500 Council houses.

You will be able to diagnose faults to gas appliances and fix problems without delay on a daily basis and be competent in the use of data recording and analysis equipment. Most of our boiler stock is Worcester Bosch, so knowledge and skills of servicing and maintaining Worcester boilers will be an advantage.

Temporary Corporate Communications Manager

Salary:£37,288 - £39,207 per annum. 37 hours per week. Maternity cover for up to one year.

We’re looking for an experienced communicator to lead our multi-disciplined Corporate Communications Team across all aspects of the Council’s communications.

As part of our Senior Management Team, this is a key role, overseeing the Communications, Civic, Web, Design, Print and General Management Team’s Admin functions.

Day to day you’ll be doing everything from advising Senior Officers and Elected Members on communications issues, handling press enquiries and overseeing delivery of our Communications and Engagement Strategy, to leading on internal communications and supporting events. You’ll also lead on communications as part of the Council and wider Local Resilience Forum response to the pandemic and other emergencies.

Gardening Apprentice

Salary: £18,563 per annum (£9.62 per hour) 2 Year Contract

Are you interested in earning money and at the same time gaining a nationally recognised vocational qualification? Broxtowe Council is committed to improving the environment for future generations by managing our parks and green spaces and we are looking to appoint a Gardening Apprentice in our Parks and Environment team.

The work will involve grass cutting, maintaining shrubs and hedges, tree and shrub planting and maintenance of formal bedding areas. You will be provided with the opportunity to have a hands on role working with our tree team and our cemetery maintenance team.

Deputy Service Manager - 28 hours per week

Salary: £26,000 per annum pro rata

Citizens Advice Broxtowe are recruiting this new innovative role designed to assist the Service Manager to ensure high quality standards are met, we have sufficient trained volunteers to meet demand.  and to help the management team develop a new look service post pandemic.

The Deputy Service Manager will be required to assist the management team and Trustee Board develop a new look service post pandemic.

External Vacancy for Citizens Advice Broxtowe

Mediation Coordinator - 21 hours per week

Salary: £21,500 per annum pro rata

Citizens Advice Broxtowe are recruiting this new role to help us shape a new service providing a mediation service across Broxtowe.  We are working in partnership with Broxtowe Youth Homelessness to provide a service to help any age group that needs mediation to help them solve a dispute. 

The Mediation Coordinator will be required to assist the Chief Executive and Development Manager to ensure this new service is successful by recruiting and training volunteers to expand the service as demand grows.

Elections and Canvass Work

Did you know you can get involved at election time by putting your name forward to work at a polling station or assist with the counting of votes?

Would you be interested in undertaking door-to-door visits as part of the electoral registration canvass?

If so, Broxtowe Borough Council’s Electoral Services team would like to hear from you.  We are looking for flexible, motivated individuals for elections and canvassing roles that may occur throughout the year.

To get involved with election and canvassing duties, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Be entitled to work in the UK and have all the relevant documentation should evidence be required
  • Polling and count staff must not work on behalf of a candidate during an election campaign, nor be related to a prospective candidate
  • Be willing to consent to working in excess of the hours indicated by the working time directive when undertaking polling station and counting roles
