Long-term plans to boost Beeston town centre take another step forward with the formal handover of a completed cinema building to the firm which will open it later this year.

The Arc Cinema has now taken possession of the building which forms the entertainment centrepiece of a £50m redevelopment expected to bring more people and more growth to the town.

The project milestone means the eight-screen deluxe cinema is still on track to premiere to the public this summer 2021.

The Arc Cinema team has now taken over from the main contractor, Bowmer + Kirkland, and begin installation of eight digital laser projectors and screens, state-of-the-art immersive surround sound systems, luxury leather recliner seats, a cafe and bar.

The new development aims to significantly boost the town’s evening economy and create new jobs. It will create at least 150 new jobs, boost footfall and town centre regeneration.
