Spotted a Rough Sleeper?

Framework street outreach logo

Winter can be hard on everyone, especially for those who are homeless.

So, if you do spot someone sleeping rough in Broxtowe, please contact 0800 066 5356.

We work closely with Framework Housing Association’s Street Outreach Team, to try and positively engage with and advise rough sleepers within the Broxtowe Borough.

Threatened with being or are homeless? Talk to our Housing Options team by calling 0115 917 7777, email housingoptions@broxtowe.gov.uk or visit the Housing Options webpage

Support Documents on Housing Applications

Homesearch logo - purple yellow house

Did you know that on the Broxtowe HomeSearch website you can now upload your supporting documents straight onto your application?

It’s quick and easy and can mean that your application will be assessed so you can bid for a new home quicker.

Supporting documents can include ID documents, proof of income, information from a medical professional or any other information that is requested by us or you think is important for the assessment of your application.

There's no longer any need to deliver them into the offices.  Not got a scanner? Don’t worry, a clear photograph should be fine, we will let you know if there is any problems with it.

Ask for ANI

ask for ani - you're not alone

We know that current restrictions can cause anxiety for those who are experiencing or feel at risk of domestic abuse.

Victims of domestic abuse will now be able to use a special code word in pharmacies, including Boots stores, all over the UK to signal that they need help and support.

The idea of the scheme is to give victims an opportunity to reach out for help without making their situation obvious to members of the public, or alerting their abuser. Victims who “Ask for Ani” at pharmacy counters will be taken by a staff member to a space such as a consulting room where they can be put in touch with the police or support services and helplines.

The code word “Ani” is an acronym for “Action Needed Immediately”.

Please be advised that it is a permitted exception to leave your home to flee domestic abuse during lockdown. If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic abuse and in need of support, you can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.

Broxtowe Women’s Project can be contacted for help and information on domestic abuse on 01773 719 111.

Time to Talk

Thursday 4th February

Time to talk Logo 2021

A small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.

We know that the more conversations we have, the more myths we can bust and barriers we can break down, helping to end the isolation, shame and worthlessness that too many of us with mental health problems are made to feel.

This year’s 'Time to Talk' day might look a little different, but at times like this open conversations about mental health are more important than ever.

Find out how you can get involved, there are some fantastic activity packs and resources you can download to start your Time to Talk journey.
