Recycling & Waste this Christmas

What not to put in the recycling bin

Recycling becomes even more important around Christmas time, but are we getting it right? Here some top tips to help you:

  • Scrunch test for wrapping paper, if it bounces back it goes in the waste bin. You can watch the test on Youtube
  • Do not leave rubbish or any items in communal areas. It is a fire safety hazard
  • Bin Full? Ask friends & family if you could pop recycling/waste into theirs or take it to your nearest Household Waste & Recycling Centre
  • Tinsel cannot be recycled. If your tinsel has finally lost its sparkle and needs to be thrown away please dispose of it in your rubbish bin
  • Large items? Use our Bulky Waste collection service

Are you bin smart? Check out our Recycling Bin web page.

Register your Appliance
