Volunteers Wanted

Your Voice, Your Views Graphic

The Housing Department is looking for volunteers to join a review of its Temporary Accommodation Service. 

Council tenants and leaseholders are invited to a meeting on Monday 15th July 2019 to find out more about the service, discuss what the review will cover and the role you can have in helping to shape this service for the benefit of all customers.  No previous experience is needed.

The meeting will start at 2:00 pm, be held in the Town Hall, Beeston and last no more than two hours.

Develop your skills

You can be supported to develop skills including:

  • Communication skills
  • Research
  • Finding solutions
  • Making improvements
  • Report writing
  • Team working

Time Commitment

  • Four, two hour meetings between July and November

There may be other activities organised that you can get involved with.

By attending this meeting you would not be committing to completing the review if you decide you do not want to take part in it.

Throughout the review you will be supported by officers from the Temporary Accommodation Service and the Engagement Team.

Estate Walkabouts

Estate Walkabouts enable tenants and leaseholders to join officers from Housing to highlight what matters to them in their area.

Estate Walkabouts taking place in July 2019 are:

  • Chilwell - 1st July 2019 at 10:00 am, meeting outside Inham Nook Pub 
  • Kimberley - 5th July 2019 at 10:00 am, meeting at the corner of Valley Road and Digby Street

STAR

(Survey of Tenant and Residents)

From 15th July 2019, all Council tenants and leaseholders will receive a short survey asking for your views and opinions on some of the service your receive from the Housing Department.

The surveys are anonymous and all responses received will be considered as part of service improvements.

All completed surveys returned by 8th September 2019 will be entered into a prize draw to win an Amazon Fire Tablet.


Tenant Inspectors Wanted

Independent Living Scheme Communal Lounge

Housing is looking for tenants to become Tenant Inspectors for the Independent Living Cleaning Service.

As a Tenant Inspector you will accompany the Cleaning Team Leader to inspect communal areas on Independent Living Schemes across the Borough to ensure they meet the required standard of cleanliness.  No previous experience is needed.

You can be supported to develop skills including:

  • Teamwork
  • Communication skills
  • Observational skills
  • Finding solutions
  • Assessing quality

Time Commitment

  • Two hour inspection, no more than once a month
