Why are collections being changed?

The current rounds have not been changed for a long time and are not as efficient as they could be. The revised rounds will be area based and will accommodate new housing developments which are planned over the coming years.

How do I know if my collection day is changing?

In November, you will receive a day specific calendar through the post which shows your collection days. The new collection days start from 4th December.

How do I find out when my collection is?

You can check your new calendar, which will delivered through your letterbox or visit the website to see your new collections dates from 4th December. You'll see your old collection dates until then.

I can’t manage my waste as I'm having to wait three extra days, will you take extra waste?

The Council operates a no side waste policy. Therefore no side waste will be collected. Please let us know if you cannot cope during the transition and we will make arrangements to collect the additional waste. Additional collections will be made during the two week transition period for those who are most affected by the changes and you will receive information about this in the post.

6.30am is too early to start collections

The Council ran a consultation about collection start times earlier this year and the majority of those who responded had no objections to starting earlier. The earlier start will enable crews to get off busy roads before rush hour starts so making the service safer for both our work force and other road users.
