This year, the Showcase:

We would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring the event this year:
We have kept our exhibitor directory live on the Showcase website to encourage B2B networking after last week's event. We will be updating the website with photos and videos shortly.
Consultation: Setting a balanced budget for 2023/24
Do you think Brentwood Borough Council should spend more, less or the same on strengthening the local economy? Does maintaining parks and open spaces matter more or less to you than the provision of sports and leisure facilities?
These are some of the questions that the council is asking residents and businesses before it sets its budget for 2023/24.
Brentwood Borough Council gets no general government grant funding at all. This means the council must get all its funding from council tax, business rates, money it can raise itself and specific grants it can bid for.
In setting our budget, we must balance our income with our spending by increasing income or reducing spending. And this is what we want your views on.
For example, providing Economic Development Services (attracting investment, supporting business, and growing the local economy) costs an average of £8.12* per household per year.
Is this a service you feel we should spend less, the same or more on?
This consultation closes on 16 October 2022.
*Of a total resident’s council tax bill, which averages £1,893.60, Brentwood Council receives 10.49% of a Band D property. This equates to £198.63 paid per annum by a Band D property to support all the services currently being delivered by the council.

Over the course of a six-part series which will be available to watch on demand once finished, BEBA Board members, Sophie Stephens from Ground Control Ltd and David Dahan from Newton Wright Advisors/Auditel, will provide an insight to how your business can effectively progress on your journey to carbon neutrality and net zero.
