Exciting new public art installations for Jennett's Park

In this special edition of our newsletter, we look at the new consultation just launched on the public artwork options for Jennett's Park.

Public Art at Jennett's Park

Three sites at Jennett’s Park have been chosen to receive new public artwork installations.

Bracknell Forest residents, particularly those living in Jennett’s Park, and regular visitors to the borough, are being asked to have their say on the design options by 7 March.

The new art was identified as a key component of the Jennett’s Park development and will be funded from developer contributions. All feedback from the consultation will be taken into consideration when choosing the artwork.

Two art installations will be provided at Peacock Meadows, one is for Jennett’s Hill open space to the east, and one for the more formal landscape of Fulmar Square to the south.

Choose your favourite design options for each location

Artists and sculptors were invited to submit their design proposals for each location.

These options were then whittled down to four of the best:

Option A (By Broadbent)

Option B (By Charlie Whinney)

Option C (By Circling the Square)

Option D (By Kerry Lemon)

We would like to know which ones out of these final designs should be commissioned for each of the locations (1-4).

Why we are consulting

Peacock Meadows

We are working with People Place Nature, a landscape and public arts consultancy, to run this consultation to better understand your views about what public artwork you'd like to see installed at Jennett's Park.

These are new facilities for the enjoyment of the local community, and those who visit Jennett's Park. It makes sense, therefore, that we invite you to have your say on which design proposals are chosen.

How to have your say:

  1. Make a note of which artist/studio you think would provide the best solution for each location.
  2. Complete our short survey - answering the questions and adding any additional comments you have in the spaces provided.
  3. Remember to click on the 'submit' button on the final page to ensure your answers are saved.

Next steps

Once the survey closes, we will analyse your feedback.

A selection panel comprising an independent arts consultant, a Director of an Arts Centre, Cllr John Harrison and a Parks and Countryside officer will use this information to help choose which art to install at Jennett’s Park.

Keep an eye on our Public art in Jennett’s Park web page, social media channels and newsletters for news of which public artwork has been selected for Jennett's Park.
