Progress update

New Roof

Webcam 14-3-2017

It's been quite a busy few weeks since our last update with plenty of happening on site to bring the new Coral Reef to life.
Our replacement roof is now being built so the very top of Coralina’s mast and crow’s nests will soon be covered again, while the changing rooms and Coconut Grove have had their walls tiled so are looking rather more homely now.
And outside, the new flume tower has continued to soar in to the sky and is now just about at its launch height, close to level with the surrounding trees. We can already picture the new stunning waterslides slotting in to place in a few short months’ time.

New Slides

Pirate Pete

Speaking of the new slides, they're slowly being assembled on site before being installed. Pirate Pete went for a little look around recently and was very excited with what he saw.

From the archive

Archive photo

In the last newsletter, we showed you a picture of the original opening of Coral Reef Waterworld from way back in October 1989.

But now, we’re going to turn the clock back even further.

This picture shows the first piece of earth being turned on the site of what would eventually become Coral Reef, way back in January 1988.

Fun fact, more than 2,000 drawings, measuring some 16km long in total, were used during the design and construction process of the original Coral Reef Waterworld.
