 Bloom comes to Shipley Market Square
Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September
Bloom is a large-scale circus performance celebrating the spirit of Bradford and its people – who we are today and who we could become tomorrow.
Taking place on the streets and in the skies of Shipley, it’s a show about connection, possibility and what we can build together – a bold and joyful expression of community and local pride.
Performances take place at 7.30pm. Please note that on the Friday and Saturday the Shipley Market traders will be located on the Precinct.

Saturday 11 October
The Shipley Harvest Market is coming to the Market Square on Saturday 11 October from 11am - 3pm, with a mixture of the Market's regular traders and special pop-up stalls. Plus, as part of the launch of the Market Square this autumn, there will be live music and more - look out for more information soon.
The Big Crafty Doo-Dah is coming back

Keighley Creative are BACK with a BIG Crafty Doo-Dah FREE harvest-themed craft activity at Keighley Market on Saturday 27 September from 10.30am to 3pm. Join the artists and get creative with a free drop-in craft activity, perfect for families. Everyone is welcome, the activities are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Look out as well for penalty shoot-outs in the Courtyard, an outdoor bar from Northern Monk, pies and peas from Taplins Butchers in the foyer and, hopefully, a very special guest...
- And from 2pm - 4pm, the HONK! continues with Tinitussis from Hamburg performing in the Courtyard!

 Double Pivot, creators of the Days After Harvest installation, at the Darley Street Market
'Days After Harvest' by Double Pivot came to the Darley Street Market Courtyard at the start of September.
The installation was called the Giant Mango Box: a 14x scale replica made from timber and vinyl, it paid tribute to the ubiquitous packaging in which the mangoes arrive. The construction of the artwork was supported by Raven Staging in Undercliffe.

 QFF Bradford 2025 lands in the Street Kitchen
We were delighted to welcome the Bradford City LGBT+ Fan Group to the Darley St. Market on Friday 5 September, as the Queer Football Fanclubs General Meeting took place that weekend.
A short presentation took place with speeches from Councillor Sinead Engel and Lindsay England, who co-founded the group ten years ago next month with fellow City fan Richard Dunbar. There were members from across the world include Germany and Switzerland.
Real Markets returned to the Darley Street Market Courtyard

On Saturday 6 September we welcomed Real Markets back to the Darley St. Market Courtyard for their monthly special pop-ups! Join us again on Saturday 4 October from 10am - 3pm.
 The new Shipley Market Square
On Monday 8 September the Shipley Market moved into the newly refurbished Market Square, with the market traders moving under the new canopies, alongside others pitched on the Precinct.

 The Baton of Hope arrives at Darley Street Market
We were honoured to welcome the Baton Of Hope UK as it travelled through the City and District on Tuesday 9 September 2025.
The Baton of Hope is the UK’s largest ever suicide prevention initiative. The Baton first toured the UK in 2023, carried by those affected by the suicide of a friend, colleague or relative. As the Baton was carried through Bradford, it provided an opportunity to reflect and to highlight the importance of suicide awareness.
Make Yourself at Home at Impressions Gallery features, as part of the wider exhibition, some photographs of Bradford Market taken by Laura Mate.
Make Yourself at Home is a major exhibition that marries new photography with rich archival material to present a vivid portrait of life in Bradford.
The exhibition runs until Saturday 20th December.

We were delighted to welcome delegates from the Local Government Association Culture, Tourism and Sport Conference 2025 to Darley Street Market in September.
After an amazing first day in the city they enjoyed food and drink at the Street Kitchen and live music from Chris Dover.
 The official launch of the Nourishing Communities scheme.
On Thursday 11 September FoodSavers, a programme of local Bradford charity Inn Churches, launched the Nourishing Communities voucher scheme.
The scheme is part funded by Bradford Council and the NHS’ Living Well programme, and builds on a two-year pilot run by FoodSavers with market traders.

 Creative people at the Keighley Market
It was great to welcome everyone in early September to Keighley Market for The Big Draw Festival 2025 in conjunction with Bradford 2025, where some very creative young people made some amazing drawings!
On Saturday 27 September 2025 you can come back to Keighley Market for the next session of the Big Crafty Doo-Dah from Keighley Creative - look out for more soon.
 Darley Street Kitchen on Match Day
The Street Kitchen was packed this month with Bradford City AFC fans warming up for the local derby and celebrating the win, with Taplins selling out of their pies and Northern Monk rolling out their outdoor bar to keep up with the demand!
On the day, three amazing musicians also played at the Darley Street Market as part of the monthly Buskers Day Out event.
Join us again on Saturday 27 September before and after the next home match for more food, drink, pies, live music and more, where there will also be a very special performance as part of the HONK! Street Band Festival in the afternoon.
Look out for more free live music this Friday and Saturday and the next Buskers Day Out event in October.
 Preserving the Harvests at Darley Street Market
As part of the Big Tasty Read, everyone was invited to make sure of this year’s abundant harvest!
'A Thousand Feasts' saw people transforming their own fruit, or fruit on the stall, into a range of items including blackberry vinegar, fruit leather, damson jam and pickled pears, as well as being able to grab some Big Tasty Read bookmarks!
