2024 Annual Benefit Statement Remedial Service Statements (ABS-RSS) – service update
We’re pleased to confirm that we’ve begun production of 2024 ABS-RSS this week. Once we have produced all 2024 ABS RSS statements we will begin the pre-production system updates required to produce 2025 statements. It is still our intention to produce 2025 statements before the end of August. We will continue to keep you updated on progress through the summer.
ABS RSS layout
The national ABS RSS template is complex and has been a difficult document to build on UPM. We are aware that the 2024 ABS RSS has a small number of layout issues when viewed online. This doesn’t affect the figures a member is looking at and is purely cosmetic. We have prioritised producing the statements as quickly as possible and we’re working to fix this for 2025 statements.
Progress since March
We applied the final system fix successfully, completed roll back on active member records and undertook final testing of the ABS-RSS calculations and output document.
Members will receive either an email telling them that their ABS-RSS is ready to download on My Pension, or a printed copy posted to their home address, if they have opted out of electronic communications.
There are some categories of member that we still cannot produce statements for. We will be writing to these people individually telling them why they won’t receive an ABS-RSS.
- Outstanding transfer in or inter-brigade cases
- Members with Pension Sharing Orders or Divorce Debits
- Annual Allowance Scheme Pays Deductions
- Members with Additional Pension Contributions
- Modified Scheme members
- Outstanding Matthews 2 cases
We aim to send letters to members who won’t receive a 2024 and 2025 ABS-RSS’ in the next few weeks so that it arrives at a similar time as statements do for those that we can produce them for.
