Congratulations Bradford City AFC
 Promotion celebrations - Key Information
Congratulations to Bradford City AFC on winning promotion to League One.
A celebration event is being organised in City Park and Centenary Square in Bradford city centre on Tuesday 6 May.
Fans are encouraged to gather at City Park from 6.30pm where there will be music and a special performance by the Bantam of the Opera choir.
An open top bus parade will leave Valley Parade at around 7pm and will make its way to City Park.
The players and club management will greet the crowds from the pavilion area above the Cake ‘Ole Cafe. This should take no more than an hour. The players will then depart for a private function and then return to the stadium.
Lining the route
Although no public event is planned at the stadium, supporters will be able to line the route of the parade on:
- Manningham Lane
- Manor Row
- Upper Piccadilly
-
John St until it reaches Godwin Street
These roads will remain open to general traffic, so spectators are asked to keep to pavements and not follow the buses to help ensure that the parade can travel safely through the streets, and everyone gets the opportunity to show their support and appreciation for the club.
Travelling to the city centre
With large crowds expected please think about your travel plans well ahead of time, use public transport where possible and aim to get into the city centre early to get the best vantage points.
Safety
Officers from West Yorkshire Police’s Project Servator will be at the event along with security officers and stewards. Random bag checks and searches may be conducted to ensure everyone can enjoy the event safely.
For the comfort and enjoyment of fellow supporters, please only bring small bags (no larger than A4 papers size) to the event.
We have been working with the club, with support from various multi-agency partners including West Yorkshire Police to ensure the event runs safely, smoothly and enjoyably for all concerned.
If you see anything suspicious, please contact a member of security staff or police, or alternatively call 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.
