Roads & Roadworks Update

Resurfacing work

Resurfacing work is taking place on the following roads in the district over the next few weeks:

  • Terrington Crescent and Tanton Crescent (cul-de-sac) in Clayton full length, will be closed Wednesday 5, Thursday 6, Friday 7 and Tuesday 11 February (9.30am-7pm). Tanton Crescent (Terrington Crest to Tanton Walk) will also be closed on Thursday 6, Monday 10 and Wednesday 12 February(9.30am-7pm). 
  • Fountain Street, Thornton full length will be closed Thursday 6, Monday 10 and Thursday 13 February (9.30am-7pm).

  • Brooklands Avenue from Thornton Road will be closed Friday 7, Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 February with diversion via Spring Head Road/Northcliffe Ave/Northcliffe Lane (9.30am-7pm).
  • Tintern Avenue, Fairweather Green full length closed Monday 10, Wednesday 12 and Friday 14 February (9.30am-7pm).
  • Upper Grange Avenue, Allerton full length closed Monday 10, Wednesday 12 and Monday 17 February (9.30am-7pm).
  • Thorpe Road, Thornton from Thornton Road to Thorpe Avenue closed Friday 14 and Tuesday 18 February (9.30am-7pm).

Steeton and Silsden Bridge

Steeton & Silsden - proposed footbridge

We're working in partnership with West Yorkshire Combined Authority to help improve journeys between Steeton and Silsden for people who walk and cycle. Have your say on updated proposals for the new bridge over the A629 and help shape the final plans.

A short questionnaire is now available on the Combined Authority’s Your Voice website to give your feedback. This will be open until 11.59pm on Sunday 16 February.

There will also be another drop-in session at The Hub, Steeton on Wednesday 5 February 10am- 2pm.

A webinar will be held on Tuesday 11 February from 6pm to 7pm.

Please note: The funding for this project is separate from council revenue funding for council services and is ringfenced by central government for use only to deliver sustainable transport improvements and cannot be spent on council services.


Kings Road Connect

Kings Road Connect

We're working in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority on plans to improve transport options along Kings Road, Bradford, making travel easier for those who live on the route and travel through the area.

Come to one of the drop-in sessions where you can meet the project team who are working on the scheme, learn more about the proposals and share your feedback.
