New Year - New Living Well Workplaces!
Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet lately, over the past 12 months we’ve been working to renew our Living Well Workplaces offer, thinking about how we can better support your organisations to become healthier places for your employees.
The core themes of our programme remain the same, but we’ve been developing more resources that make it easier for you to achieve the workplace promises on our website.
We’ve also been partnering with other schemes and programmes to ensure that being part of Living Well Workplaces gets your organisation the recognition it deserves.
We will be in touch with more info about our refreshed offer very soon and you’ll hear from us more often as it continues to develop, but if you can’t wait and you’re keen to know more now just email us at: Workplaces@MyLivingWell.co.uk for some more information.
For now, read on to find out about some opportunities for you to support your employee’s wellbeing as part of their New Year resolutions!
Grow Well To Eat Well – Fruit trees for your workplace!
Following the huge success of the 2024 campaign, we’re excited to announce the re-launch of the #GrowWelltoEatWell campaign!
Working with FruitWorks we are excited to share a free offer with local workplaces, to give you the opportunity to have a small fruit orchard on your site. If successful you will receive 3-6 medium-sized apple, pear and plum trees!
Fruit Works Co-operative will give successful workplaces a briefing and demonstration of how to plant the trees and can supply cages to protect the trees if necessary.
The closing date for applications is Friday 7th March.
Walking Works
Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, has partnered with West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) to embed the culture of walking into workplaces with the Walking Works programme.
Workplaces across West Yorkshire are taking steps to become more active, more productive, healthier, and happier – join them at no cost to your organisation!
What is Walking Works?
- A bespoke package of staff challenges, tailored to the needs of your workplace with onsite pop-up activities to support staff engagement.
- CPD Accredited Walk Champion Training and supporting resources.
- A small number of workplaces will also be offered more in-depth support to tackle barriers to walking which could include route audits and walking maps to help remove barriers to walking.
What are the key benefits?
We have years of experience supporting workplaces. Organisations taking part have seen improved staff performance, reduced employee absence, increased job satisfaction and employees prioritising their physical and mental health.

Get involved: Sponsorship opportunities available for Bradford Sports Awards
Last week, the Bradford Bulls stadium hosted a gathering of local organisations who came together for a breakfast briefing in support of the upcoming Bradford Sports Awards. The event highlighted the vital role sponsors play in making these inspiring awards a reality.
Attendees included key sponsors, with discussions focusing on the opportunities these partnerships bring to shine a spotlight on Bradford's incredible athletes, coaches, and sports volunteers.
Active Bradford co-chairs Charles Dacres and James Mason said: “We're thrilled to have some fantastic local organisations already interested in supporting the awards, but we also appreciate that it's a tough time for businesses with the state of the economy. As such, we have understandably lost some sponsors. If we don't hit our target to break even, the reality is that this event doesn't go ahead, and this really would be a shame. Bradford has so many inspiring stories - to lose the awards would mean, as a city, we need to take a long hard look at ourselves as to what we deem important or not. The Bradford Sports Awards are a true celebration of Bradford's sporting spirit, but we need local businesses, organisations, and sporting clubs to get involved.”
