July 2024
Welcome to your July newsletter!
In July we welcomed families to a fantastic Family Fun and Coffee Morning at Barkerend Family Hub. Children played with toys and enjoyed free activities including flower planting in the lovely outdoor play area. The day had a safety theme, with story time provided by Road Safety, and parents and carers could visit a range of stalls for information and advice. Take a look at the pictures in the collage above!
We also provided information about a new, free Family Hub membership offer - this will be available on a wider basis very soon. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the event a big success!
There is another Family Hub open day coming up soon - an Emergency Services Family Fun Day at Farcliffe Family Hub on Tuesday, 6 August - organised jointly with emergency services. There will be lots to do for all ages - find more information about this on the fun day event on Facebook.
As always, our monthly newsletter is packed with information for families and professionals. As it's the summer holidays you might notice a summer theme! Please take a look and share with anyone who might find it useful.
Latest Family Hub timetables - August
Some of the 'term time only' sessions at Bradford District's Family Hubs won't be happening in August as it's school holidays all month. Most schools in the Bradford District reopen to pupils during the first week in September.
Instead of 'term time' activities, some of our hubs are putting on special summer events or extra weekly sessions for families.
These include:
-
Reevy Hill Family Hub: Summer Holiday family fun - every Wednesday in August, 1pm - 3pm.
- Barkerend Family Hub: Coffee Morning events - Thursday 1, 15 and 29 August, 10am to 12 noon. Different themes each time, always with play and free refreshments.
- Farcliffe Family Hub: Emergency Services Family Fun Day, Tuesday, 6 August, 10am to 3pm.
Our Family Hub area timetables show the sessions and activities that are taking place for families in the coming month.
While the summer events are usually open to all, some other sessions on timetables will need booking in advance. These are clearly marked as booking required or appointment needed - please contact your Family Hub if you would like to book a place.

Maternity and baby circles in the Bradford District
Did you know there is a growing number of maternity and baby circles across the Bradford District?
Maternity circles and baby circles are a welcoming space from pregnancy through to having a baby, usually up until the child is age 2. Mums, dads and carers are welcome.
Some of our district's maternity and baby circles have recently been given a boost with extra funding from Family Hubs and Start for Life. There are also a number of other trusted providers working in communities to provide these popular sessions.
There is a list of maternity and baby circles on the FYI website's What's On directory - search for 'circle' for best results. You can also filter your search, for example you can search by postcode. Details for each session will give you more information about who is providing the session and what you can expect there. Maternity and baby circles - FYI website
