Little Hearts Shipley is rated 'Outstanding' in first Ofsted inspection
A NURSERY where "laughter and happiness fill the rooms" was rated ‘outstanding’ in its first Ofsted.
Little Hearts Shipley, Owlet Road, Shipley was visited by Ofsted on 6th January this year. It was given the top rating in every inspection category. The report said: "Laughter and happiness fill the rooms in this exceptionally caring nursery. “Building very secure attachments between children, staff and parents is given a high priority to ensure that children, and their parents, feel safe and secure. “It added: "Children's behaviour is exemplary. Staff have high expectations of all children. “Planned activities support the development of toddlers extremely well. 'Laughing Yoga', for example, is a highlight of the daily toddler routine."
The report said "Managers and staff are highly aware of the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on their pre-school children, such as delayed speech, language, personal and social skills. Excellent planning has ensured that staff have focused on these areas and enabled children to make the rapid progress needed to catch up. As a result, children can speak in full sentences using a breadth of rich vocabulary."It added: "Together, managers show a determination and passion to ensure that every child gets the best possible start in life. Staff, parents and children are viewed as a `family', with the well-being of everyone in it given high priority. Staff say they feel highly valued and appreciated for their hard work. “Partnerships with parents are excellent. Staff go above and beyond to support families, such as delivering hampers to families they know struggle at Christmas."
Natalie Stringer, the manager at the time of the inspection said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our first Ofsted inspection. “The children and families are at the heart of everything we do here at Little Hearts, and we are so pleased that the inspector could clearly see this on the day of the inspection.
Maynaz Bi and Mohammed Dilpazir, owners of the nursery, said: “We are really happy with the Outstanding Ofsted judgement. “From opening our first setting in 2015 it has always been our passion to provide the very best childcare and education for children. “Although this is the first inspection at our Shipley site, we have managed to achieve three consecutive Outstanding judgements across our three settings. “This shows the level of dedication we have to provide a high-quality service for children and families. “We know that we could not realise this ambition without our staff team and appreciate them all so much! It is nice that our hard work and dedication have been recognised.”

Harden Pre - School setting graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted
The Management Team and staff at Harden Pre-School are delighted to have been awarded the rating of ‘Outstanding’ following an Ofsted inspection in January 2023. The setting was also awarded an outstanding in their previous Ofsted inspection, so understandably the new management team were keen to maintain those very high standards. The Manager, Karen Clarke, felt the inspection was extremely thorough, particularly as the Inspector herself was being assessed throughout the inspection, so there were two inspectors present on the day.
The notification call came the usual day before where the inspector requested numbers/age of children on roll, staff qualifications, number of children with additional needs, Child Protection plans etc. It was useful to have all this information to hand, allowing the manager to impart the details effortlessly and confidently.
On arrival, the inspector produced an itinerary for the day, which commenced with the learning walk. Staff members were introduced, and room leaders were available to assist the inspector whilst they were in the room. This was particularly liked as she felt this act gave staff total autonomy.
The Inspector felt the quality of Education was outstanding. She said the curriculum was flexible and worked around the children. She loved that the staff were passionate and had high expectations for the children, who are encouraged to reflect on their own behaviour and develop in a positive way. It was commented upon that the children are happy as they enter the setting. They show eagerness and enthusiasm about their learning and are keen to participate in all activities available to them.
Inclusive practice was said to be of a very high standard and the provision for children with Special Educational Needs was described as excellent. It was commented upon that children with SEND progress very well in their development and staff work in partnership with other professionals to help the children focus on their learning. The Inspector commented on how the manager demonstrates an excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection matters, sharing this information with the highly vigilant staff team.
As part of the inspection, the inspector engaged with parents and said the partnerships with parents was phenomenal. There were a number of lovely comments from parents who spoke highly of the setting. Parents who could not be there to speak to the inspector sent in an email to share their kind views with her.
The inspector spoke at length with individual staff members and gave feedback that we are a strong team that works well together. The children are happy, feel safe and ready to learn. She said the practice is embedded in a shared vision with high expectations for learning. Leadership and management were described as extremely strong where the manager leads from the front, building respectful relationships and promoting professional development within the team. This is quite an achievement for Harden Pre-School and we are very proud of our team of staff.

Janie Thirkill Celebrates an Ofsted 'Outstanding' childminder
Janie, childminder from Thornton shares, 'I am really pleased to have been graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted for the second time. From start to finish the inspection was very relaxed and I went about my normal day. I explained to the inspector why I had chosen the activities that were set out which in turn covered my 'learning walk'. I provide a very child led setting, everything I do is based on each child's interests, and their next steps which I incorporate throughout the activities I plan and offer.
I recently took part in the Early Years Professional Development programme (EYPDP), which I highly recommend to anyone who wants to reignite their passion for teaching early years children through play.
I am extremely passionate about providing an inclusive setting for children with SEND, this includes children with communication and language delays. I am currently studying for my Level 3 special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), whilst this is a challenging course, I am hoping that it will help me to support the children I work with to receive additional early interventions, which is something the Department for Education (DfE) are supporting by offering this course for free.'
I would like to say a big thank you to the children who were amazing on the day of the inspection, and the families that I have the pleasure of working with.’

In July 2023 I was overjoyed and proud to receive my third outstanding Ofsted inspection.
For the last 32 years providing children with the best quality childcare has always been my passion.Giving children a warm , safe and homely environment with activities and opportunities to interest and challenge them has always been my priority.
My latest inspection was a very positive experience , with the inspector being appreciative of the type of setting and curriculum I provide for the children in my care. She was friendly, but also professional and her attitude enabled the children and myself to continue with our normal routine and activities.
I feel a confident and professional attitude to my job and an in-depth knowledge of the children in my care were the key to my outstanding outcome. Also a big thank you to my husband and son who have always been my biggest support.

Kideos Childcare celebrates an Ofsted 'Outstanding' childminder
Kideos Childcare has been delivering quality childcare since 2013! To be awarded outstanding in November 2023 was just amazing. It’s always been a priority to ensure that the children get the best possible start in life.
Our inspection was just over 5 hours long and what I wasn’t asked my assistant was! It was intense but also very fair, it’s good to know that we are challenged to ensure we know our roles in relation to safeguarding, our curriculum and most importantly our children.
Our children and parents are a huge part of our setting and on the day of inspection this didn’t change. We received some very heartfelt letters in relation to parents and carers experiences at Kideos as well as some parents who took the time to take a call with our inspector.
“The childminder and her assistant create a warm and welcoming environment where the children thrive, they form strong bonds with children and their families. Children feel extremely safe and secure. The families are very complimentary of the service they receive and that she supports each individuals needs”.
We have three playrooms for the children to explore which allows us to do activities on smaller scales to ensure we are promoting development for all the children at different ages and stages.
“The childminder creates a stimulating and inviting environment where children flourish, she knows the children extremely well. Children are extremely well prepared for their move on to school”
Overall the inspection was a very pleasant experience one of which we are very proud of.
We will continue to deliver quality care and education in line with the EYFS.
