Why not start off the season of goodwill with a visit to the Charity Christmas Tree Festival at St James’ Church.

With free entry to a wonderful display of decorated trees, you can support your favourite charity or cause by placing a few coins in the buckets provided.

During your visit you'll have chance to browse the Christmas shop,visit Santa and grab a wonderful coffee and cake in our Coffee Shop.

The Reindeer Parade is BACK!

To mark the start of the Christmas season Santa will arrive with his reindeers all way from the North Pole.

Commencing at 10:00am, the Reindeers will make their journey around Bradford City Centre before coming back to Kirkgate to take off back to help Santa deliver his presents. Come and join us for this magical event!

Christmas wreath making workshop

Join our fantastic Wreath Making workshop at Cartwright Hall and create your very own stunning wreath to take home.

The session will be led by Ian Dobson, Heritage Parks Officer for Lister Park.

Participants will be able to make their own festive wreath to take home, using real plants and flowers collected from the grounds.

Free hot drink and mince pie included.

There's fun for all the family with a Santa's Grotto located inside the Trevor Foster Suite, giving children the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and receive an early gift ahead of the big day!

Shipley Christmas Lights Switch On

Christmas lights switch on

Come and enjoy a day of free, family fun and entertainment as Shipley gets into the festive spirit, with their annual Christmas light switch on event. 

Taking place in Shipley Centre, from 10:00 on Saturday 25 November, there will be music performers taking to the stage in the market square, along with a panto show performed by Shipley based Q20 Events.

Father Christmas and craft activities will be available in the Underground Market, and face painting and balloon modelling taking place in Shipley Library.

The outdoor market will also include a large range of additional stalls including crafts, and artisan foods as well as instalations by Rob Eagle and Summat Creative as part of BD is LiT.

Victorian christmas market

£2 per adult (children enter free)

Bradford Industrial Museum will be hosting a Christmas event in the Victorian style on 25 and 26 November. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Scrooge and listen to his miserly tales, hear updates from the town crier, see the spectacular Victorian chimney sweep stilt walkers, and say hello to the beautiful alpacas.  

The season wouldn't be complete without the festive sounds of a brass band and a visit to see the great man himself.

Tickets to meet Santa can be purchased in advance from Bradford Industrial Museum reception for £6 per child, including a lovely gift.

Festive Storytelling with Mrs Claus

Event is FREE (usual admission fees apply)

Families can join Mrs Claus for storytelling in the Great Hall this year, take a seat and enjoy a festive tale!

Visit the Discovery Room and try out some Christmas crafting, don't forget to write your letter to Santa so Mrs Claus can deliver it to the North Pole.

Baildon Christmas Lights Switch On

Baildon will open its festive season with ‘Baildon at Christmas’ on 3 December.  Throughout the day, there will be a range of seasonal stalls, food and music in various locations around the village centre.

The village Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 5.15pm in the central area by The Stocks, with musical accompaniment from our local choir and brass band. This year, we plan to close the road for a short period to allow families to safely gather to watch the switch-on.

More details will be published over the coming weeks on Facebook by Baildon Town Council and ‘Baildon at Christmas’ and will include the full programme for the day.

Make a traditional Peg Doll toy to take home, ice a gingerbread biscuit and decorate a wooden bauble to add to the beautiful Christmas tree.

The Crickmore Crew will be singing traditional Christmas songs throughout the day, helping us enjoy the festive season atmosphere of this wonderful historic home!

Sparkling trees decorated by local charities and community groups, lights, entertainment from local school, choirs and musicians and an array of tempting seasonal treats.

You can donate to the Mitten Tree (new woolly hats, gloves and socks for Nell Bank), write a prayer to hang on our prayer tree and enjoy some time with friends in the stunning St Margaret's church. We look forward to seeing you!
