Baby Steps now covers all of Bradford District - places available for parents-to-be!
Baby Steps is aimed at families expecting a baby. The programme uses a combination of home visits and friendly online group sessions to help families feel happier, healthier and more confident as they look forward to meeting and caring for their new baby.
Provided by Action for Children, Baby Steps has previously been successfully delivered to many families in the Better Start areas of Bradford.
Now, with new funding from Family Hubs and Start for Life, it is offered to a wider reach of families across all areas of our district.
This expanded offer aims to support families who might need a bit of extra help no matter where they live in the district. There is a range of criteria listed on the referral page on the FYI website.
Families can self-refer, however we are particularly appealing to practitioners, including midwives, family support workers, and all health, care and community support teams, to consider referring any families that may benefit. Although families will join the programme around the beginning of the third trimester, the earlier the referral and home visits can take place, the better.
If you know anyone who could find this course useful, please pass this message on.
Baby Steps is aimed at expectant parents at any stage – whether the first or fifth baby – all pregnancies are different and as we go through life, different challenges can emerge.
To find out more, including the referral criteria, please take a look on the FYI website:
