Voter ID

Local elections take place tomorrow, Thursday 4 May

Here's some information to help you vote:

  • Check where your polling station station is - you will have received a polling card with details on or you can check on our website
  • Make sure you (or your proxy voter) have acceptable photo ID on the day
  • Our polling station staff are trained to support disabled voters who may need assistance and we also have a range of accessibility equipment at every polling station
  • Privacy screens are available to check your ID in private if you wish
  • Not sure who to vote for? A list of candidates will be available at the polling station or online. Some areas will be voting for both the District Council Elections and Parish Council Elections
  • If you become unwell or need to be away unexpectedly for work, you can apply for an emergency proxy vote any time before 5pm tomorrow (4 May).

All polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Due to the voter ID requirement, it may take slightly longer to vote than usual. Please allow plenty of time.

Use your vote tomorrow, Thursday 4 May.

Postal voters

If you have not had time to post your vote, please hand it in at any polling station within your ward between 7am – 10pm on Thursday 4 May. You do not need photo ID for this.
