St Blaise Festival

St Blaise

Sunday 5 February 11am to 4pm at Bradford Industrial Museum FREE

The St Blaise Festival is woven around a wool market with stalls selling wool, woolly things and tools to make your own woolly things.

There will also be music entertainment and food stalls. Special exhibitions will tell the story of the wool trade in the Bradford district.

Lindsay Tempest Exhibition - Unmasked

A new exhibition of work by Lindsay Tempest has opened at Bradford Industrial Museum.

Lindsay is an illustrator who lives in the Yorkshire Dales, where her family has a rich heritage. 

Recently diagnosed neurodivergent, drawing is a place she goes to express and explore her feelings about the world around her, including mental health.

As well as producing her own work Lindsay teaches and researches the benefits of creativity on mental health.

As well as the exhibition Lindsay will be running a ‘meet the artist’ creative session with hourly demos on 15 February between 10am and 2pm.

Windrush Stories: Don't Give Up Exhibition

There's still time to discover the stories of the Windrush Generation in the Bradford district at the Windrush Stories: Don't Give Up exhibition, which is at Cartwright Hall until 12 February 2023.

A project funded by the British Library and managed by Nigel Guy, Director of Windrush Generations in partnership with our Bradford Museums and Galleries Service, set out to capture and preserve the previously untold stories of those from the Windrush Generation who came to live in the Bradford district.

As part of the project three young people from the district, with African and Caribbean heritage, took part in training and then interviewed over 20 Black elders to discover their stories.

Guided Walk - Haworth and Oxenhope

Candlemass Eve Walk

Haworth and Oxenhope 7 February FREE 5 ½  miles (8.8km).

Meet Daphne Allen at 10.30am outside Haworth Railway Station for a walk to Oxenhope and up to the views from Penistone Hill. Please bring your own packed lunch.
