ZooLab - Animal Handling Session

The Oastler Market Saturday 10 December 12pm-3pm - Zoolab Animal Handling FREE

Get up close and personal with fascinating creatures including stick insects, tarantula, scorpion, corn snake, giant millipedes, cockroaches, giant African land snail, tree frog, and a rat. You can see them all and handle them in this workshop.

Santa comes to Wrose 

Wrose at Christmas

Wrose Road by The Old Library cafe and Age UK Saturday 10 December 11am-5pm FREE

The first ever Wrose Christmas Market with snow cones, homemade jewellery, crochet teddies, Indian street food and much more.

Santa will arrive at The Wrose Bull at 1pm before moving on to his grotto in the Age UK shop at 2pm.

There will be performances during the day from the Two Rivers Band Carol Players and Low Ash School Choir.

Visit Santa in the markets

Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to make special appearances in his grotto at the Oastler Market Event Space on Saturday 10, Saturday 17, Saturday 21, Friday 23 and Christmas Eve Saturday 24 December from 11am to 3pm. He will also be doing walkabouts down to meet children at the Kirkgate Market.


Festive Family Workshop - Natural Christmas Garlands

A children's festive workshop making natural Christmas garlands, recycled cardboard robins on twigs and stick stars with jingle bells! This workshop will be delivered by our friends from Sponge Tree. More information here.


Family festive workshop, donkey rides and face painting

Donkey rides

Oastler Centre Saturday 17 December 10.30am to 4pm FREE

Festive workshop where little ones can craft and create stick Christmas trees and stars using natural materials. Make a DIY, handmade bauble for your tree or give as a gift to a loved one. This workshop will be delivered by Sponge Tree.

There will also be FREE face painting, FREE donkey rides on John Street for children and the Salvation Army band will be playing.

Classic thigh-slapping fun comes to Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley with a new display of costumes from pantomimes past featuring a selection of Principal Girl and Principal Boy costumes from pantomimes put on by the local Keighley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (now the Keighley Musical Theatre Company).

Meet Goody the Principal Girl from the pantomime Goody Two Shoes, Prince Charming from Cinderella and Robin Hood from Babes In The Wood, as well as other famous characters who will be stepping out of the storybooks in to display cases.

Hunt the mischievous elves and collect a present as a reward, take a guided tour of the traditional Edwardian theatre with access to all areas and the chance to look behind the scenes.

Support two local charities: Dementia Friendly Ilkley Action and Ilkley Food Bank in a charity raffle. With family tickets for this year’s Alhambra Theatre Pantomime and many other fantastic prizes donated by generous local businesses.
