Bradford District wishes the Lionesses good luck ahead of the Euro 2022 Final
On Sunday, England take on Germany in the final of the women’s Euro 2022. To show our support as a district, flags are flying at Centenary Square & Keighley Town Hall. The lights at Bradford City Hall will be red and white and the City Hall clock tower will be ringing out Three Lions on Sunday before kick-off.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford has recorded a special good luck message for the Lionesses on behalf of the district.

Don’t lose your voice - residents urged to check their voter registration details
You’ll be receiving a letter soon asking if your household's details on the electoral register are correct. All you need to do is follow the instructions, and you'll be ready to have your say in upcoming elections.
The annual canvass ensures that Bradford Council can keep the electoral register up to date, identifying any residents who are not registered to vote so that they can be encouraged to do so.
Celebrate Yorkshire Day in the Bradford District
Bradford District will celebrate all things Yorkshire when the UK's largest county comes together in a display of regional pride.
Every year a different town or city in the county is chosen to host the Civic Celebrations by the Yorkshire Society – and this year Keighley Town Council is the proud host. To mark this there will be a whole host of events and activities taking place in Keighley between 30 July and 1 August.
You will find the Keighley Town Council programme here
Beyond Keighley there are a host of other events and activities across the Bradford district to celebrate Yorkshire Day.
Bradford Top of Town improvements work to begin
Our ambitious plans to transform the city’s historic top of town area are set to begin next month following a contract being awarded for work.
Eric Wright Civil Engineering which has extensive experience in delivering transformative public works was awarded the £2m contract in June.
High quality upgrades to the conservation area will include highway improvements and sustainable landscaping works at North Parade, Rawson Square, Northgate.
Our plan is to create a safe, healthy, attractive and community friendly environment with high quality public spaces which supports and new and existing businesses.
The scheme is also designed to help tackle climate change and reduce flooding risk.
Bradford Council’s greenhouse gas emissions have halved over seven years
We have cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent over the last seven years, showing that we are taking effective action on climate change.
We have produced an annual analysis of our emissions for the last 11 years and the latest report – for 2021-22 is now available.
The figures are divided into three scopes: Scope 1 is directly produced emissions, such as council-owned transport and heating fuels used in its buildings, Scope 2 is indirectly produced emissions, such as electrical items and Scope 3 is emissions that are outside of our control but which are associated with its activities, e.g. business travel.
The figures account for the emissions of greenhouse gases, such as nitrous oxide and methane, but for consistency are given as CO2 equivalents (CO2e). New data is now also being collected on water consumption and hotel stays to create a more detailed picture of the council’s emissions.
Views sought on anti-social street drinking orders
We are offering people the opportunity to have a say on local Public Space Protection Orders which give local authorities powers to crack down on antisocial street drinking in public areas.
We are considering extending, cancelling or varying existing Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) for areas within Bradford, Keighley, Shipley and Bingley town centres.
In defined areas, the orders allow us to confiscate alcohol from those drinking anti-socially and issue fixed penalty notices to those who refuse to hand it over.
