The Met Office has issued an exceptionally rare Red Warning for Extreme Heat from midnight on Sunday until midnight on Tuesday for areas bordering on the Bradford district.
They've also issued an Amber Warning for Extreme Heat which covers the whole of the Bradford district from midnight on Saturday until midnight on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to be in the mid 30 degrees Celsius.
We've put together a webpage with links to advice and tips on how to cope during hot weather and ways to keep your home cool, as well as advice from the NHS on heat associated health risks and information from the RSPCA about caring for animals during hot weather.
Please #BeWaterAware
It can be incredibly tempting to use rivers, canals, lakes and reservoirs to cool off during hot weather, but there are many hidden dangers and tragically every year during the summer months there is a sharp rise in the number of accidental drownings in the UK. Please follow the advice of the #BeWaterAware campaign.
Please protect our moorland and #BeMoorAware
Our moorland, woodland and parks are at risk from wildfire during dry weather, barbecues, fires, fireworks, sky lanterns are not allowed, you can be fined up to £2,500 and or received a prison sentence. If you see a fire or someone using a BBQ on moorland - call 999 and ask for FIRE. The #BeMoorAware campaign has information about the dangers
Changes to bin collections due to the hot weather
Due to the extreme temperatures forecast for next week, bin collections will start earlier in the day than usual.
If your bin is due for collection on Tuesday (19th July) please put your bin out for collection the night before it is due to be emptied.
For the safety of our crews, bin collections may be suspended if it becomes too hot. If your collection is delayed and doesn't take place, please leave your bin out until it is emptied.
The earlier start is part of a range of measures being taken to protect our bin collection crews and will help them avoid having to work during the hottest time of the day.
Other safety measures include providing all collection crews with reusable water bottles to prevent dehydration and high UV factor sunscreen.
Further updates will be provided next week.

Ilkley and Oxenhope community development plans receive final sign off
After almost a decade of hard work, two community-led neighbourhood plans have come into force in Ilkley and Oxenhope.
In June, Bradford Council formally adopted the neighbourhood development plans which will now guide local growth and development in the areas.
The confirmation follows nine years of hard work and dedication by local residents, councillors and the council’s planning officers.
Work began on the neighbourhood development plans in 2013 for Ilkley and 2014 for Oxenhope.
