Children's Literature Festival Keighley and Haworth

Here’s what’s in store for our Children’s Literature Festival,    2nd -7th May. In partnership with Children's Literature Festivals and author Christina Gabbitas


Railway children walk

The Railway Children Walk   

2nd May starts 10.30am

Haworth Park Bandstand.

6 or 2.5 mile circular walk.

Come and join us in this wonderful walk that visits all the locations of the classic E.Nesbit story The Railway Children.

Choose the 6 or 2.5 mile circular walk, starting and finishing in Haworth Park.

We are raising funds for charities Children's Literature Festivals and Childline and suggest a donation of £5.00 per family. Or raise funds for a charity of your own choice.

We will be meeting at the Bandstand in Haworth park at 10.30am for registration. We have a limited number of signed copies of The Raiwlay Children story book. The Children's Literature Festival patron Actress Jenny Agutter OBE will be signing copies for us. If you donate to our cause and complete the walk we will gift one book per group/family on completion.

Meet back in Haworth Park for your certificate.

Communities day

 

Children's Literature Families and Communities Day.

Saturday 7th May 10.00am - 3.00pm Keighley Library. 

FREE event: Come and meet authors, poets and illustrators who will all be performing throughout the day at Keighley Library.

Michael Bradley 'My Life as an Undertone'

Presented by DJ Stephanie Hirst

Thursday 5th May 6.30 - 10pm Keighley Library                     

Drinks and Nibbles.

An evening with the artists - Undertone Michael Bradley will be talking about his life as an Undertone with his book Teenage Kicks in conversation with the DJ and inspirational Stephanie Hirst.

There will be opportunity for adults to experience what some of our artists deliver to children, including Poet Matt Goodfellow, African Peace Poet Donavan Christopher (aka Rappaman) Award Winning Poet & Author Andy Seed, the brilliantly talented and engaging illustor Liz Million and Award Winning Author Christina Gabbitas.
