Bolling Hall Library and Gardening Volunteers

Can you help on a Saturday and/or Sunday?

11am - 4pm

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to help deliver a new and improved library service from Bolling Hall Museum. If you love working with people and have a few hours to spare each week, why not become a volunteer at Bolling Hall Community Library? Bradford Libraries offer a wide range of services including, books, free use of computers and the internet, information, activities and events for people of all ages. As a volunteer at Bolling Hall you would join a brand new team working to deliver a library service that compliments and enriches the visitor experience at the museum. Volunteer Library/Museum Gardeners

Manningham Library

  • Beginners welcome, as are those with fantastic experience
  • To work under the supervision of library/museum staff
  • To help maintain the grounds and gardens by tidying, weeding, pruning and planting in specific areas. Woodworking skills would be great but not essential.
  • To carry out these tasks according to agreed health and safety guidelines and Bradford Council Behaviours and volunteer code of conduct

We can offer you the opportunity to:

  • Meet new people and have fun
  • Learn new skills and to build on experience and skills you already have
  • Gain pride in making a valuable contribution to your local community
  • Help support the library and museum service in Bradford
  • Improve your personal wellbeing

Volunteer Weavers and Spinners - they're back!

Bradford Industrial Museum. They returned in style with the Christmas Crocus Volunteer Day on Sunday 5 December.

Over 300 visitors enjoyed meeting the volunteer Industrial Museum Gardeners and Printers. The volunteers in the Weaving, Spinning and Dyers Guild sold out in knitwear as did the Eccleshill Village Steering Group in homemade cakes!

The power of volunteering, handmade craft and community engagement in a heritage setting .... and there's still some hand printed Christmas cards to buy in the museum shop by the letterpress printing volunteers. Go and shop!

What better way to end 2021 and celebrate all that HUGE volunteering support, than with a Christmas coffee morning at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Refreshment Room Cafe.

Congratulations to Kim Beaumont, volunteer audience researcher; Linda Bower, Friends of Bradford Art Galleries and Museums membership officer and Jay Targett, volunteer gardener and library volunteer - the winners of the Quiz 2021. Prizes courtesy of the art gallery shop.
