Pregnancy and the COVID vaccine
COVID-19 infection is currently circulating and can be serious for pregnant women. Thousands of pregnant women have been safely vaccinated in the UK and worldwide. It is important to have both doses of your COVID-19 vaccine to protect you and your unborn baby.
COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended for pregnant women by the Royal College of Midwives and Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
You can read more about the COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy here.
Call 119 or go online to www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronaviruscovid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/ to register for your vaccination appointment. You can also attend walk in, mobile or pop up vaccination clinics in your area, view the timetable and vaccine information.
NHS COVID Pass
The government has updated the NHS COVID Pass guidance.
Anyone can access a Pass which allows people to demonstrate their COVID status including if they have received their vaccine, their test results or whether they have natural immunity from COVID-19.
The update to the guidance reflects that you can demonstrate COVID-19 status by showing proof a positive PCR test result for COVID-19 when travelling abroad. The update also clarifies that people who have received the Novavax vaccine as part of a formally approved vaccine trial can now obtain the NHS COVID Pass.
An NHS COVID Pass shows your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination details or test results. This is your COVID-19 status.
You may be asked to show your pass to travel abroad, or at events and venues in England asking for proof of your COVID-19 status.
Always check the entry requirements for the country or the venue you're visiting.
If you're planning to travel abroad, or want to know more about your COVID-19 status:
