New Library Management System for Bradford Libraries from 24th June

Lady on PC

Bradford Libraries are pleased to announce that they will be going live with a new library management system on 24th June.  The new system will be the backbone of the service, providing the library catalogue, stock circulation, and easy to use features for library customers.

There will be a new online public access catalogue. This is where library customers can search for books, reserve or hold items, check their own accounts and renew items.

New Look Online Catalogue

Library customers will notice a different look and feel to the catalogue with a new user interface and functionality.  In addition, the new library catalogue has a translate feature provided by Google Translate. This free service instantly translates words between English and over 100 other languages.

Library customers can continue to use the same library card. All loan periods will remain the same and people will be able to borrow up to 20 books in addition to e-books and e-audio books.

When the new look catalogue is LIVE, it will be available by following the link on this page:

So, how is this going to affect me?

Our old catalogue will be unavailable from 21 June 2021. Please delete any bookmarks or favourites you may have. When the new catalogue address is published you can add the URL as a new bookmark or favourite.

As a Bradford Libraries customer you will keep your current library card and you will still be able to borrow, renew and reserve your items as usual.

The main changes you will notice will be on the new library catalogue where there will be a new look and feel.

We appreciate your patience while we change over!

As the service changes over to the new upgraded system, there may be some slight temporary disruption to services.  This transition period will start from 21st June when libraries will be working offline. On 24th June the new system will be live.

During this time there will be some limited services and customers may find that the service and enquiries may be slower than normal. Bradford Libraries would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience which may be caused and thank customers for their patience at this time.

Bradford Libraries are looking forward to welcoming customers to the improved new online catalogue system and in continuing to serve customers and communities in the future.

Welcome Back

Welcoming you and your books back

We know that this year has been challenging, and your library books may have been the last thing on your mind and so we have waived fines on overdue books until the end of June 2021. So hunt down those library books and other library items, and bring them back to any of Bradford's Libraries before the end of June as any items returned late after 4th July 2021 will incur overdue charges.

If you can't get to a library you can renew your books online by going to the link at the bottom of the page (service not available between 21st and 24th June).

Come and see us soon! We are Covid-secure, and would love to welcome you back.

Please check opening times before you visit as hours have been reduced and we are unable to open all our libraries at this time.
