Welcome Back to businesses across the district

Covid 19 Response - Roadmap out of lockdown

Good luck and welcome back to all the businesses across our district who are reopening their doors to customers

Step Two of the Government's Roadmap Out of Lockdown which started today (12 April) means that the following can now reopen:

  • non-essential shops
  • restaurants, pubs, cafes & bars for outdoor table service only
  • hairdressers, barbers, nail salons
  • indoor leisure for use by individuals or in household groups only
  • outdoor attractions
  • self-contained accommodation where indoor facilities aren't shared with other households

Wider social contact rules will apply in all these settings to prevent mixing between different households.

Whilst these businesses are allowed to open, Covid-19 is still here and we all still need to do all we can to stay safe. Please act sensibly to protect yourself, your friends, family, carers, staff and volunteers, and your local health and care services.

As lockdown eases it's important that we continue to stick to all guidance including Hands, Face, Space and Fresh Air to ensure we can continue to reopen safely.

If you or anyone in your household has symptoms of Covid-19, however mild, you must immediately arrange to have a test, ring 119 or visit www.111.nhs.uk and not leave your home apart from to get tested.

Businesses are working hard to keep customers safe

Businesses have been working hard to put in place covid secure measures to help keep their customers safe. Please behave responsibly and respect the staff who are doing their best.

Information from the Government about the Covid-19 restrictions are still in place.

We've put together some information to help you plan your visit:

More information from the Government for businesses reopening can be found here.

Changes to Test & Trace requirements

Download the NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app

Certain businesses must have a system in place record the contact details of their customers, visitors and staff to help break the chains of transmission of coronavirus.

Places that are required to take contact details of their customers must now request that every one scans the NHS QR code or provides their contact details upon arrival, not just the lead member of the group.

This is to make sure that every person can receive timely public health advice if they may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Further guidance on the requirements can be found here
