After your vaccine
Lots of people in the District have already had their COVID-19 vaccination. We need to remember that after your vaccine the transmission of COVID-19 to others is still possible.
Although vaccinated people will have more protection from COVID-19, not enough is known about the vaccine’s impact on a person’s ability to transmit the virus.
Everyone who has received the vaccine should continue to follow the current guidelines including hands, face and space.
If you had regular COIVD-19 tests as part of your job continue to do this even after having the vaccine.
Together, this will help manage infections in hospitals and help protect other staff, and patients, as well as your friends and family.
Find out more about the COVID vaccination on the Bradford Council's Website
Household testing for parents
Regular rapid testing is now available for parents of nursery, school children and college students. As well as adults in their households, childcare and support bubbles.
This means that you can test your household and support bubble by collecting lateral flow tests (LFT's) for free from a local test centre (from 1.30pm – 7pm) if at least one household member or a member of your support bubble:
• is a nursery, school or college pupil
• works in a nursery, school or college (including temporary workers or volunteers)
Free COVID-19 workplace testing
Regular COVID testing could be the difference between a workplace being able to stay open and operational, or needing to close due to a COVID-19 outbreak. It will form a crucial part of the government’s plan to gradually and safely ease restrictions as we get back to a more normal life.
So far over 3,500 businesses are signed up to offer workplace testing programmes, and over 14,000 have registered their interest in offering rapid testing, with many already rolling tests out. Find out more on the Government online portal.
- Free workplace testing is now available to all businesses, including those with fewer than 50 employees
- Business are encouraged to register their interest by 31 March to access the free workplace testing
- Regular testing will be a vital part of the government’s roadmap to cautiously ease restrictions
Businesses have until 31 March to register for the government’s workplace testing scheme, which will remain free until the end of June. All those who can work from home should continue to do so.
