COVID- 19 Vaccination
The NHS will let you know when it's your turn to have the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination.
The vaccine is being offered at larger vaccination centres, pharmacies and some local NHS services such as hospitals or GP surgeries.
The West Yorkshire Vaccination Programme is continuing at pace. Over 350,000 people have now been vaccinated across the region, and we have now completed vaccinations for almost all the over 80s. Similarly, all 99% of adult care homes and 70% of patient-facing health and care workers have now been vaccinated.
If you are a frontline health and social care worker, the Covid-19 Support Team will assist you with booking your vaccination, please call 01274 431999 or email covid19supportteam@bradford.gov.uk.
Travelling for your Vaccination
WY Metro have made some improvements to their service to help you get to the larger vaccination centres using public transport.
Several important measures to assist local people in getting to community vaccination centres by public transport have been introduced, including the introduction of free travel to vaccination appointments for concessionary bus pass holders.
With effect from 8 February, the following changes are in place:
-
Concessionary Travel: Rules around concessionary travel will be relaxed, as holders of free bus passes (issued to older and disabled people) will be able to travel free on public transport before 9.30am if they are going to or from a coronavirus vaccination appointment. Pass holders will be asked to show their appointment letters, texts or emails to the bus driver. Concessionary Travel Passes can be used after 9.30am weekdays and all day at weekends and public holidays.
-
Wayfinding: There will be additional signage directing people to the main vaccination centres at the nearby bus stations

NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app
Protect your loved ones with the official NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app for England and Wales. The more of us that use it, the better we can control coronavirus.
It's the fastest way of knowing when you're at risk from coronavirus (COVID-19). The quicker you know, the quicker you can alert your loved ones, and your community.
You will see QR Codes in designated venues, certain sectors must have a system in place to request and record contact details of their customers, visitors and staff to help break the chains of transmission of coronavirus.
To support this, the Government has developed the NHS Test & Trace app which uses QR codes. The NHS website includes information on how you can support your customers and visitors to use the app.
Protect your loved ones. Please download the app.

Outside Parks and Open Spaces
We all benefit from spending time outdoors but please do so safely and follow the COVID-19 guidelines.
You cannot leave your home to meet socially with anyone you do not live with or are not in a support bubble.
Government guidelines say you can go out for exercise as a household but if you meet up with others then more people are put at risk.
Try to avoid exercising in the most popular places if the number of people there makes it difficult to social distance.
Remember you should not meet up with other people and you should avoid crowded places if you want to protect yourself from Covid-19 infection.
