Free workshops offered to Bradford district small businesses
Bradford Council in partnership with business support firm Insight with Passion is offering a range of free workshops for local small businesses to help them to innovate and thrive in the current challenging trading conditions.
Managers and staff from local customer-facing businesses in retail and hospitality can attend free online workshops which will help them adapt to online trading, deliver excellent customer service and understand how to brand their business effectively.
The workshops which run from 3 February to 17 March, are offered under the council’s Bradford Microbusiness Support programme which aims to help local businesses become more resilient and encourage greater collaboration between firms.
Since March, Bradford Council and its partners have been working very hard to support local firms and protect jobs.
The authority has offered free grants and support advice through Invest in Bradford and have processed and paid thousands of local business support grants.
The council has paid £124m to almost 11,000 local businesses via the Small Business and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Business grants. This is the third highest of any council in England.
A further £6.9m of Local Authority Discretionary Grant funds has been paid to 639 businesses - the second highest in England.
The authority has paid over £7.5m in Local Restrictions Grants to local rate paying businesses which have been forced to close.
The council is currently receiving applications from the government’s Additional Restrictions Grant.
The workshops and mentoring calls can be booked via www.mybusinessbradford.info.

NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app
Designated venues in certain sectors must have a system in place to request and record contact details of their customers, visitors and staff to help break the chains of transmission of coronavirus.
To support this, the Government has developed the NHS Test & Trace app which uses QR codes. The NHS website includes information on how you can support your customers and visitors to use the app.
