November update

Hello, and welcome to the November update. We hope everyone is keeping safe in these difficult times. We are thinking of all of our families across the Bradford district. We would like to first of all introduce you to two new members of the Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Transformation and Compliance Team.

Sally

Sally Skipper - SEND Transformation & Compliance Project Officer

Hi, I am Sally and in my role I will provide project support to the SEND Transformation and Compliance team across our work streams and support with co-production & engagement. These are challenging times for many children and young people with SEND and their parent/carers and we are always keen to get feedback on experiences and services and work with families to improve delivery. This is something I am passionate about. I a parent/carer myself to a young man who is now 17 and have been and am still involved myself with groups and projects across the district supporting children, young people and families with SEND.

Nigel

Nigel Hammon - SEND Local Offer Project Officer

Hi, I am Nigel and in my role I will provide project and business support to the Local Offer website and will ensure quality, accessibility of content, monitoring and development of the SEND Local Offer. I will also support with the SEND co-production and engagement of the Local Offer. I’ve enjoyed a varied career over many years ranging from sales roles through to IT director, and more recently working as an independent website designer, developer and IT project manager. During my working life I’ve been lucky enough to travel throughout the world which has given me many experiences of different cultures, people and work methods.

Council Plan - have your say

what do you think

Bradford Council are looking at what they and partner organisations will do over the next four years to give the right support to people across the Bradford district.

As well as refreshing the Council Plan, we are also refreshing our equality objectives. Within these we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential, regardless of who they are or where they may live in the District.

Give your views on the draft plans until Thursday 19 November. Follow this link to the online survey. You will find the draft Plan and Objectives by clicking below, along with easy read versions of both.
