Look out for these colourful wooden spiders around the sites - they'll be sharing fascinating Spider-based facts.
For instance - Did you know that the world’s smallest spider, the Samoan moss spider, is less than 1mm long?
Like the Spider Fact hunting elsewhere, this is just for fun!
When you visit, collect a laminated sheet & pen for your family group. As you go around the site, look for what's on the sheet and mark it off.
Once you're finished, hand it back, where we can clean it all with anti-bacterial, ready for its next use!
You can hunt for spider facts outside at Cliffe Castle Park - they can be found hiding around the site. - we've included a bit of a clue to one of them in this picture
This half term why not visit Peel Park or Lister Park and go on a Halloween Dance Trail? Seek out zombies, skeletons, witches and mummies using your smartphone, and learn a little about the park on your way!

If you're wanting some more inspiration for things to do during this half-term, why not look at some of the other 'You Inspire me posts' ? If you missed them when we originally shared them, there's there's no need to worry - we've got them all saved
Explore the Natural History Gallery at Cliffe Castle Museum where you can find a new display dedicated to dispelling some of the many myths about Spiders and learn how important they are to maintaining our environment
Elsewhere in Cliffe Castle, you can also enjoy a brand new display of paintings created by children who attended 'Healthy Holidays' sessions at Keighley Healthy Living during Summer 2020.
The children worked with artist Victoria Alderson to paint their own hedgehogs. Victoria chose hedgehogs for the children to paint as they are an endangered species and she wanted to highlight their importance to the children.
We are also delighted to host a selection of spider-themed paintings, inspired by our Spider theme for Science week by the adult art groups at Keighley Healthy Living. Before the pandemic began, there were 4 classes of all abilities who met to create art in a fun and chatty atmosphere under the guidance of the tutor.
During Lockdown the Classes went on-line and the response has been overwhelmingly positive, strengthening friendships and bonds despite the obvious barriers.
