Virtual Bradford City Runs 2020

Saturday 24 October - Sunday 1 November

Virtual Bradford City Runs Banner

The annual Bradford City Runs event which usually takes place in the autumn has been transformed this year by going virtual. Bradford Council’s Community Sports & Activities Development Unit, has launched Virtual Bradford City Runs 2020.

How it works

  • Decide which distance to run - 5k or 10k or a one mile race for under 11's
  • Choose your own route - laps around your local park, run round your neighbourhood, or a length of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal path, for example
  • Complete it at any time that is convenient to you during the last week of October
  • Let us know how you did to receive your T shirt and medal

Virtual runs are perfect for beginners and experienced runners of all ages and abilities.

How to take part

Enter now on the Virtual Bradford City Runs website.

Take advantage of it being October half term school holidays and get the whole family involved. Why not dress the kids in Halloween fancy dress? There will be a prize for the best costume - the spookier the better. Send your photos to sportsunit@bradford.gov.uk

  • 5k (entrants must be 11 years and over) Entry fee: £12
  • 10k (entrants must be 11 years and over) Entry fee: £12
  • Kids Run - 1 mile (entrants must be under 11 years) Entry fee: £4

A contribution from each entry fee goes to the Lord Mayors Appeal and the Plastic Surgery & Burns Research Unit.

Runners can raise further money for the Plastic Surgery & Burns Research Unit by downloading a sponsorship form from the website. If entrants prefer to raise money for other charities, they will need to contact them directly for an appropriate sponsorship form.

Runners that can show that they have completed a virtual race will receive a T-shirt and a medal. More details on how to do this can be found when entering at www.bradfordcityruns.co.uk

Post photos of your virtual run on social media using #BCR2020.

Please remember, with the local restrictions in place across the Bradford district, runners must only run with people from their own household or social bubble.

By entering any run you agree to Bradford City Runs terms and conditions.
