Bradford back to school
Children and young people across Bradford District are returning to schools in September.
Please check individual school websites for detailed information about opening arrangements.
Many children have not been in school since March and schools may look and feel a bit different when they go back. We know parents and carers may have some questions so we have put together some Frequently Asked Questions.
However, we strongly encourage parents and carers to contact their children’s school, college or childcare setting to discuss any specific concerns.
The government has also produced information for parents about the return to school from September.
False rumours
We are aware of some false stories circulating on social media about procedures in school if a child shows Covid-19 symptoms.
If a child is unwell, schools will ask a parent, carer or guardian to collect them and arrange a test.
Watch the video below to hear from Shaqib Juneja from Education & Learning, Bradford Council, exactly what will happen to your child if they display symptoms of coronavirus at school.
Local restrictions
Since 31 July, local restrictions are in place in parts of West Yorkshire, including the Bradford District. If you live in Bradford District you should follow the rules when meeting people who you do not live with. You cannot meet people you don't live with at home, in a garden or in indoor public venues.
Read more about about the restrictions on our website.

Coronavirus testing in Bradford District
Walk-in mobile testing units are available in community locations throughout the district. These testing units are a quick and easy way to get a coronations test with or without an appointment.
The units are available for anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19, such as a high temperature, a new cough, or a change in sense of taste or smell, or thinks they may have the virus.
Face coverings
You need to wear a face covering in lots of different places. This is now mandatory for everyone except children under 11 and those with certain disabilities.
Please see our website for more information about face coverings including a short video by Dr Amir Khan showing how to safely put on and wear a face covering.
If you do not have to wear a face covering
People who have a reason for not wearing a face covering (if they are exempt) should not be routinely asked to give evidence of this. However it might be helpful to be able to show something on a phone, wear a badge or print out a card that can be shown to explain to others.
If you would like to use an exemption card, or an image you can display to people on your phone, you can download these from the GOV.UK website.
