Scope of £6.8m Discretionary Grant Fund widened to include home based businesses
We've widened the scope of our latest round of applications for the £6.8m Discretionary Grant Fund for businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The second round of funding was announced last week and included small manufacturers, suppliers to the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, enterprise centres and local charities and childcare providers who have not received a business support grant. This round of funding has now been expanded to include applications from home based businesses.
In order to qualify the home based business must not be eligible for the Government’s Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).
The focus will remain on small and micro businesses and charities with fixed property costs who have suffered a significant impact on their income due to Covid-19.
Interested businesses should visit our website for full details of the criteria and to fill in the online application form and providing evidence where requested.
Grant amounts for home based businesses will be determined based on the funding available after all other grants have been awarded.
Applications received under Round One will be reappraised under the new criteria there is no need to apply again and we will inform all those who are eligible for the second round.
These grants are available to businesses that that aren’t eligible for other current Covid-19 business grants, were trading on the 11 March 2020 and who can confirm State Aid compliance.
The main eligibility criteria for the grant has been set by the government and our Invest in Bradford team will offer advice and support to all applicants who are found not to qualify.
Interested businesses should apply online by 6pm, Friday 28 August 2020.
A reminder that the government’s Small Business Grant Fund and Retail Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund will also close on 28 August.
