The reopening of Sport and Leisure facilities
The Government has outlined the measures that allows outdoor pools to reopen from 11 July and indoor gyms, swimming pools and sports facilities to reopen from 25 July, ensuring millions of people can get back into more sport and fitness activities.
Ilkley Lido
Although outdoor pools have been able to open from Saturday 11 July 2020, unfortunately Ilkley Lido will not be reopening at this time. Due to the on-going situation with Covid-19 we took the decision to continue important repair work on the Lido which is not expected to be complete before the end of August. This work will ensure that the Lido can be enjoyed by residents for the next 30 years.
Sport and leisure facilities in Bradford District
Bradford Council plans to take a phased approach to reopening and will open its gyms at Sedbergh, Thornton and Keighley on Saturday 25 July for gym sessions and fitness classes. Pools at these centres will not be open on this date. We are working on putting all safety measures in place and aim to reopen pools as part of the phased opening plan in the near future.
Other council sports facilities in the district will reopen over the following two weeks.
If you are considering returning to one of our gym facilities to take part in a fitness class or gym session take a look at this video explaining what you can expect from attending one of our facilities and what procedures we have put in place to protect you and our staff.
We have created a service update page to keep you up to date with all the relevant information regarding the reopening of the Sport and Leisure centres in the district. Please refer to this page for the latest information.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
