We are funding extra Covid-19 safety measures for taxi drivers and passengers
Taxi drivers and their passengers in the district will be able to travel in confidence thanks to new safety equipment we are funding. We will provide the funds for taxi drivers to set up clear flexible screens for use in each vehicle as well as 10 facemasks and two bottles of sanitising gel per vehicle in an initiative costing £233,000. The equipment will be available from a private contractor. Our Licencing Service will contact the taxi operators to arrange collection of the hand sanitisers, facemasks and how best to order and supply screens for their vehicles.
Your future travel choices
Will you change the way you travel in the future following Covid-19? Help shape the future of travel in West Yorkshire by completing this short survey.
The results of this survey will help our partners at West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) better understand and plan for the potential impact of changing travel behaviours as the lockdown is eased.
The survey results will also inform decisions about the transport network and other services provided across the region as WYCA work to ensure they meet the needs of residents and visitors. Read more and have your say on the WYCA website.
