Our Public Health team have launched a series of short information films to help people protect themselves and their loved ones.
The importance of hand washing and maintaining a 2 metre social distance are just some of the topics covered in these short films.
Dr Sufyan Dogra, Health Promotion Researcher at Bradford Royal Infirmary gives information in both Urdu and Punjabi whilst Bradford GP, Dr Katherine Hickman talks about the importance of respiratory hygiene.
Lots of other subjects including; alcohol use, shielding, attending hospital, looking after your mental health, cancer, and more, feature other local community and health experts from across the district.
The videos can be found on our YouTube channel.
Windrush Day flag raising
The recent easing of lockdown regulations means that a special flag raising ceremony outside City Hall can be attended by the Leader and Chief Executive of Bradford Council.
Monday, 22 June, is Windrush Day, the 72nd anniversary of the arrival at Tilbury docks in London in 1948 of the ship Empire Windrush carrying hundreds of people from the Caribbean who came to make a new life in Britain and perform a vital role in helping to re-build the country after the Second World War.
These passengers blazed a trail for thousands more who would travel from across what was then the British Empire to make a vital contribution to the recovery of an exhausted nation.
Windrush Day was inaugurated in 2018 to celebrate the rich diversity that Commonwealth citizens brought to the country and to mark the major contribution they and their descendants have made to British society, culture and economy.
Council Leader Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe and Chief Executive Kersten England will attend the raising of the Windrush Flag which was designed in Bradford and is now used by many councils across the country.
Also attending the socially distanced ceremony will be Charles Dacres, the Director of the Bradford Hate Crime Alliance.
