Dowley Gap recycling centre is re-opening
As the Coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdown continues to ease another Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in the Bradford District is due to open on Saturday.
To prevent the spread of the pandemic virus and to allow staff to be redeployed onto more vital services, Bradford’s eight HWRCs were temporarily closed at the beginning of the lockdown.
The five which have since re-opened have proved massively popular with the public and on Saturday, 30 May, the Dowley Gap HWRC in Bingley will join them.
Shipley Open Market gears up to open in June
Shipley Open Market will open on Monday, 1 June.
Following the government announcement that open markets will be allowed to begin trading again, we are working alongside traders from Shipley Open Market to ensure a safe and successful reopening.
Staff from Bradford Markets are working with traders on the preparations needed to work safely and measures they need to follow to keep customers safe. This includes making changes to the stalls layout and signage to remind customers how to stay safe when waiting to be served.
Traders will be maintaining high standards of hygiene and will be encouraging people to make contactless payments where possible.
