Victims of domestic abuse and violence reminded service are #StillHereToHelp
We are reminding residents that services that support domestic abuse or sexual violence victims are still open and can still be contacted now lockdown restrictions have been loosened.
There has been concern that the coronavirus pandemic has meant victims of abuse are spending more time indoors with their abusers and it has more difficult for victims to be able to speak out or access support.
Although services have remained open throughout the pandemic, it is anticipated that victims will have more opportunity to find safe times and places to ask for support as restrictions ease.
Now some restrictions have been eased, services are continuing to reach out to anyone who needs help to reassure them they are not alone and services are still open and here to help.
You can find support on our coronavirus help page or read more below.
Take care during the hot weather
The hot weather can pose problems for the elderly, young children and those with health issues.

- Spend time in the shade between 11am to 3pm
- Make sure you never burn by taking sensible precautions
- Aim to cover up with a t-shirt, wide brimmed hat and sunglasses
- Remember to take extra care with children
- Then use a factor 15 plus sunscreen
Advice issued to help people make healthier choices about alcohol
Households across the Bradford district are set to receive a booklet containing advice and guidance on alcohol consumption during the current coronavirus crisis.
The 16-page booklet, which will drop through the letter boxes of more than 8,000 homes in the coming days, provides information and advice about making healthier choices about alcohol. It was developed because of concern over increased alcohol misuse during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Anyone who is trying to stay alcohol free and struggling or is worried that their drinking is increasing to get in touch with New Directions on 01274 296023.
