COVID-19 Submission of building regulation applications & site inspections

During the current Coronavirus emergency, the safety of our clients, their families, co-workers and of our surveyors is paramount.

Submission of applications

We are unable to accept paper building regulations applications and payments by cheque for the foreseeable future as our staff won’t be in the office to administer such applications and scan documentation.

Please help us by submitting full plans and building notice applications online through The Planning Portal on the Council’s website and make your payment online at Pay a building regulations fee or invoice.

Alternatively you can call 01274 433807 to arrange to make a telephone application or payment. This facility is available from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays. Please ask for Building Control Support to contact you to provide the service.

If you wish to submit a demolition notice, regularisation, reversion application or any other application please submit by email to buildingcontrol@bradford.gov.uk. Payments can be made by telephone or online as above.

Site Inspections

For the safety of all, the Building Control Service can make only limited inspections.

If you have started your building work, it is important to contact Building Control at all the key stages of your inspection framework to discuss the stage of work and the potential for inspection.

Inspections will be based on a risk assessment of the conditions under which the inspection will take place, including social distancing and whether the work is internal or external.

PLEASE NOTE: The lack of an inspection does not mean that the work has been passed by default.

Whilst not normally the case, under current circumstances, photographs of the work may be acceptable. Please discuss this with your Building Control surveyor.
