Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Bradford - We are People: Bradford, open now - until 22 September 2019
The gallery is welcoming Yorkshire artist Musarat Raza for an ‘edible’ drop in workshop, inspired by the city’s experiment to introduce free school dinners in 1907. Visitors can explore the gallery and the stories of the people featured in the exhibition, then design patterns to decorate biscuits. The gallery is also hosting the 2019 Young Open exhibition, an event which celebrates artwork produced by young people from Bradford.
Plus a free cuppa kindly sponsored by Hoogly Teas, naturally healthy indulgences.
FREE drop in, 11am-3pm, suggested donation of £2 per person
West Yorkshire Museums join together for Yorkshire Day!
West Yorkshire’s museums are celebrating the greatest date in the Yorkshire calendar, Yorkshire Day, with a series of exclusive events for visitors on Thursday 1 August.
As part of the ‘We Are West Yorkshire’ joint exhibition programme, museums in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield will host a variety of activities which are linked to their current exhibitions celebrating the county.
The local museum services have each chosen a different route to highlight the rich variety of their own town or city. The shows include a diverse range of stories, objects, and artworks spanning centuries of history in West Yorkshire.
The We Are West Yorkshire project has been made possible through funding and support from Arts Council England.
