Boiler and heating surveys in your neighbourhood

Would you like to be part of our research and possibly upgrade your boiler?

We are looking for homes in your neighbourhood to take part in some research surveys which our partners Better Homes Yorkshire are conducting on our behalf in the Saltaire and Manningham areas.

The surveys will involve a representative from Better Homes Yorkshire visiting your home to identify the type of heating systems currently used to heat your home and asking a few short questions relating to the heating of your home. The survey should take no longer than 30 minutes.  The aim is that surveys will be carried out before the end of July 2019.

Why is the Council carrying out the research?

The Government has identified that the air quality in our district needs to improve as poor air quality is having a negative impact on our health and environment.  Heating our homes is one of the contributing factors to poor air quality especially if households are burning solid fuel or have gas boilers that are old and inefficient.

The surveys will help to identify what impact domestic heating is having on our air quality. If a number of homes are found to have heating systems that are contributing to poor air quality, a boiler replacement or scrappage style scheme may be introduced in the district.

Why take part?

You’ll be helping with our important research to tackle air quality.

If your home is identified as a home which requires a new heating scheme you may be offered a free or discounted energy efficient boiler, subject to survey research results and a scheme being developed.

How do I get involve?

You can register your interest by either completing the online enquiry form or contacting Better Homes Yorkshire on 0800 597 1500.

Please note all our surveyors will carry photo ID cards carrying the Better Homes Yorkshire logo.
