All our waste collection crews are out as normal this morning, but due to the snow and icy weather conditions, particularly in rural areas, there may be some delays.
Please leave your bin out and we will get there as soon as we can, weather permitting.
When the weather is bad, such as snow or icy conditions, we will collect where it is safe to do so. Please read about bin collections in bad weather and follow us on Twitter or Facebook where we will try to keep you informed about any issues.
Please always remember to put your bin out for collection after 7pm the evening prior to your collection or before 6.30am on the day of your scheduled collection. Find out more about missed bin collections.
The bin collection service for household waste normally operates Tuesday to Friday between 6.30am and 5.15pm. We try to collect all bins put out between those times on the specified day of collection.
Where collections are delayed due to transport problems or bad weather, we will always try to catch up on the same day, or the following morning.
Remember, bin lids should be closed with no extra waste at the side of the bin. Thank you.

One of our waste collection crews based at the Stockbridge Depot in Keighley received a letter of thanks from a resident after helping her father, who had fallen on his drive.
Well done and thank you to Wayne Mahomet, Jonny Brayson and Paul Carter for your kindness.
The letter said: “My parents have asked that I write and say a massive thank you for all the help that your crew offered my father when he fell on his drive in Silsden, whilst trying to put his recycling bin out.
“The crew, Wayne, Jonny and Paul, quickly ran to help him and offered to ring for an ambulance. My father was adamant that he did not want to go to hospital, so they ensured he was safely inside, helped my mum make him comfortable and then returned to their duties.
“They returned on Tuesday to make sure he was doing OK, leaving some chocolates for my Dad.
“We as a family felt it was very important that your staff receive some recognition for their help and genuine concern. It was very much appreciated.”
Service Manager Chris Goodall said: “Our crews and others provide a difficult and demanding service, in all weathers, to all of the district. Sadly on occasions they suffer abuse but they continue to help and support the community in their allocated areas.
“I am proud of the actions of our staff and indeed the follow-up contact is a credit to them and the service. This incident clearly demonstrates the lengths crews will go to help someone in need.”
He added: “We operate a ‘crew of the month’ award which recognises great work performance and customer care. I'm pleased to say they won crew of the month for January!.”
