Join Bradford Libraries this summer for the Mischief Makers Summer
Reading Challenge 2018 for children from 4 to 12 years old.
The challenge
is a national initiative to encourage primary age children to continue to read
throughout the summer holidays. Research has shown that the Summer Reading
Challenge improves children’s enjoyment of reading, as well as their reading
range, confidence and motivation and it helps prevent the summer holiday dip in
literacy skills.
All
our libraries will be involved in the Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge
2018, which this year, is celebrating the Beano 80th anniversary.
Every child who joins will receive a fold-up poster with six Beano character
stickers to collect. There are also bookmarks, colour-in card glasses and
wristbands to collect as you read more books. Every child who reads 6 books
will receive a certificate and medal complete with presentation wallet which
not only marks their achievement but are also fantastic to take back to school
in September to impress teachers and friends!
