Geomagnetic Storm Forecast
6th August 2025
We are expecting an increase in geomagnetic activity to STORM levels on Friday and Saturday due to the combined effects of the High Speed Stream (HSS) from a coronal hole and the arrival of an Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME).
Assuming clear dark skies, there is an increased chance of seeing the aurora Friday and Saturday night, 8th-9th August. Those in Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland have the best chance if the weather is favourable.
