Geomagnetic Storm Forecast 3rd October 2024

We are expecting a significant increase in geomagnetic activity during the next 36-72 hours due to increased solar activity, including the largest solar flare so far in this solar cycle.
Assuming clear dark skies, there is a chance of seeing the aurora during the nights of 4th and 5th October. Those in Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland have the best chance if the weather is favourable.
