Geomagnetic Storm Update 25th March 2024
Yesterday saw the arrival of a coronal mass ejection (CME) at 14:45 associated with an X-class solar flare from the 23rd March. This caused severe geomagnetic storm conditions during daylight hours in the UK. As the effects from this continue further geomagnetic activity is possible.
Assuming clear, dark skies, there is a chance of seeing the aurora tonight 25th March. Those in Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland have a better chance if the skies are cloud free.
